TWDCS Rockaround Puppy of the Year 2023!

Snoopy is from Daisy’s 2nd and final litter to Elvis and we couldn’t be more pleased with him. He was in fact sold at birth however due to personal changes, his owners had to return him to us at 5mths old. He took a bit of time to settle back after the change of homes and so we started showing him in the meantime and were keen to ensure the perfect home so he didn’t have any more changes.

We found that for him in Caroline Davenport-Potter and family where he lives and is adored byall but especially their 5yr old daughter who is his own personal human in Snoopy’s eyes (even if she does think his white bits look better coloured in pink sharpie). Luckily they are happy for us to show him and so we have been able to pick him up to tag along to shows and hopefully his young human will be doing Junior Handling with him in the future.

Snoopy made his showing debut at exactly 6 months of age at Chichester & District Canine Society Open Show where he won Best Puppy and then Hound Puppy Group 1. He followed this up then 12 days later at his second show with another Best Puppy and a Hound Puppy Group 4 placing. Super starts to his career which he is continuing to build on as now added another Puppy Group 1 to his record at Eastbourne Premier Show.

Snoopy competed at his first Championship Show at Devon, Cornwall & SW Beagle Club under breed specialist Emily Thornton and he successfully qualified under her for Crufts 2024!

See below for some of the critiques Snoopy has received to date:

26th March 2023. CHICHESTER & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW. 1st in Junior, BP and HPG1. Haggatty Bonafide, well grown 6 mo Tri lad at his first show. He has a good masculine head, strong neck with good shoulder placement. Nice topline running into firm well muscled hind quarters. Behaved well and took everything in his stride. Moved smartly and well. BP. PG1

8th April 2023. CRYSTAL PALACE CANINE ASSOCIATION OPEN SHOW. 1st in Puppy & Junior, BP under Judge Matt Wenman. Haggatty Bonafide, 6 month blank blanket tri-coloured dog of the larger mould. Masculine head of good proportions, good reach of neck and spring of rib. Level top line and well off for bone. Tight feet. Took his first show all in his stride. BP and very happy to hear he got HPG4.

8th April 2023. CRYSTAL PALACE CANINE ASSOCIATION OPEN SHOW. Hound Puppy Group 4 under Judge Monica Fairburn. Haggatty Bonfide, a good young Beagle dog, showing and moving well, deserving his place in this nice puppy group.

16th April 2023. HITCHIN & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW. 1st in Puppy/Junior, BP and RBOB under Judge Nina Pace. Haggatty Bonadie – 6 month Tri coloured male, good head with muzzle still developing, good teeth, tight feet with strong pasterns. Chest developing nicely angulation positive throughout. Positive mover. Happily wagging his tail. For one so young he was not distracted by sniffs BPIB and RBOB

14th May 2023. GRAVESEND & MEDWAY TOWN CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW. 1st in Junior & BPIB under Judge Jane Paradise. Haggatty Bonafide. 7 month old Tri with white tail top. Lovely lad with fabulous head, ex scissor bite, large nose & long ears, glossy coat. Large feet with short nails. Moved briskly round the ring with animation. BPIB & HPG4.

1st June 2023. SOUTHERN COUNTIES CANINE ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW. 2nd in MP Dog and 1st in Novice Dog under Judge Karen Simkin. Haggatty Bonafide. 8 month tri puppy. Larger mould than my winner. Pleasing head, dark eye, long leathers. Well muscled body, well schooled for one so young, just preferred the movement of 1.

18th June 2023. WHITSTABLE & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW. 2nd in Junior under Judge Tim Ball. Haggatty Bonafide. 8 mth old tricolour dog who also has lots to like. Neck of good length to balance, level back, good depth to chest, muscular loin could be a touch shorter and tail set on high and of good carriage. Attractive, well proportioned head, ears set on low, correct stop and scissor bite. Pleasing angles both ends, straight forelegs and well knuckled feet. Not quite the action of the winner.

25th June 2023. EASTBOURNE & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY PREMIER OPEN SHOW. 1st in Puppy, BP & RBOB under Judge Dee Blatchford. Haggatty Bonafide. Eight month old tri dog. Good masculine head proportions with that typical soft expression. Well balanced when standing and on the move. Well angulated without being overdone in any way. Good topline. Used his stern very well when on the move. Close decision between him and his kennel mate in this class but he won this on his movement. BP & RBOB. Very pleased to see him win the Hound Puppy Group too.

25th June 2023. EASTBOURNE & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY PREMIER OPEN SHOW. 1st in the AV Puppy Stakes under Judge Steve Maskell. Haggatty Bonafide (Beagle) – This 9 month tri boy has a lovely temperament, he has a well defined head with brown, expressive eyes. A strong jaw with scissor bite and long low set rounded ears. Adequate neck into good shoulder lay and nice straight front. He has a good balance to this body which has a deep chest with well sprung rib, a good muscled rear with a high set well carried tail. He has a lovely free stepping movement keeping a level topline at all times.

25th June 2023. EASTBOURNE & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY PREMIER OPEN SHOW. Hound Puppy Group 1 under Judge Rachel Barney. Haggatty Bonafide, really liked this well made Beagle who moved out well and was sound both ways.

20th August 2023. KENT COUNTY CANINE ASSOCIATION OPEN SHOW. 2nd in AV Hound Puppy under Judge Karen Page. Haggatty Bonafide very promising puppy. Tight feet good stifle soft head and eye

27th August 2023. HORLEY & DISTRICT SHOW SOCIETY PREMIER OPEN SHOW. 2nd in Puppy, 1st in Junior under Judge Lisa Tyler Jackson. 2, Haggatty Bonafide, another nice pup of similar very nice type and closely related; not quite the expression of 1 and though he moved well enough he lacked the poise of 1, needs to settle in his work but much to like.

27th August 2023. HORLEY & DISTRICT SHOW SOCIETY PREMIER OPEN SHOW. 2nd in AV Puppy Dog Stakes under Judge Chris Briggs. Haggatty Bonafide. Beagle of 11 months. Really lovely shape. Nicely developed body in super muscle and condition. Moved superbly.
