Elvis started showing in January 2020, qualifying for Crufts on his first time out. He proceeded to come 2nd at Crufts (to the eventual BOB winner) at only his 3rd show. Covid mean he then didn’t show again till summer 2021 however he has come back to the ring and absolutely loving it. Below is what some of the judges have said about him to date.
11th January 2020. BOSTON CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW. 2nd Junior Dog Under Judge Ms Sharon Hardisty.
Edge & James-Dow’s JALHAR THE WONDER OF YOU – 12 month old blanket tri male. Masculine head with kind expression, correct ear set, dark eye and good dark pigmentation. Nice reach of neck and shoulder lay back, good return of upper arm, depth to body, plenty of bone, moved out well with good drive on profile movement.
8th March 2020. CRUFTS CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW. 2nd Junior Dog Under Judge Mr Darren Fellows.
Edge and James – Dows, JALHAR THE WONDER OF YOU. Clean limbed and balanced young Male, good head and clean neck of good length, he has a good outline which was retained on the move, shows strong drive from the quarters and good extension in profile.
24th July 2021. LEEDS CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW. 3rd Graduate Dog & 2nd Limit Dog under Judge Kath Parkin.

15th August 2021. BOURNEMOUTH CANINE ASSOCIATION CHAMP SHOW. 1st Graduate Dog under Judge Debbie Taylor.
Whitton & Edge’s JALHAR THE WONDER OF YOU. Heavier built dog all over. Masculine hound with well shaped head and flews. Reachy neck, with strong quarters, good tailset. Moved well.
29th August 2021. HORLEY & DISTRICT OPEN SHOW. 1st Open, RBOB under Judge Celia Mortlock. Whitton & Edge’s Jalhar The Wonder of You. Dog of 2 years 8 months. Masculine head with slight stop, dark enough eyes. Soft expression. Good length of neck running into well laid shoulders. Good front. Level top line. Good length of ribbing. Well bent stifles. Won on movement which was slightly more positive than 2.
29th August 2021. HORLEY & DISTRICT OPEN SHOW. 2nd RBOB Stakes under Judge Di Butler. Whitton & Edge’s Jalhar The Wonder of You. Very smart beagle, with lovely head and soft expression, well set ears, good shoulder placement, deep chest, strong short back and well muscled rear. Lovely profile moved out very well.
10th September 2021. RICHMOND CHAMPIONSHOP DOG SHOW. 1st Graduate Dog & 2nd Limit Dog under Judge Lee Cox.
Whitton, Miss J & Edge, Mrs E. Jalhar The Wonder of You, beautifully conditioned and schooled tri, he is superbly presented. Masculine in outlook an balanced in angulation. He moved out on the right track and kept his outline, alone here but a worthy winner.
26th September 2021. BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL DOG SHOW. 1st Graduate Dog under Judge Andrea Keepence-Keyte.
Whitton & Edge’s Jalhar the Wonder of You – Heavier set hound of a larger mould. Very masculine head, good length of neck into good shoulders, strong topline. Well-muscled and shown in hard condition, moves well and covers the ground.
17th October 2021. GRAVESEND & MEDWAY TOWN CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW. 1st Open, BOB and Hound Group 4 under Judge Derek Allsopp.
Whitton & Edge’s Jalhar The Wonder Of You, 2 years old Dog, has a good masculine head, correct eyes, nice front, well boned, good reach of neck good shoulders, lovely topline, has nice angulation, moved soundly and was well presented. Was pleased to award him Best of Breed and eventually Group 4 in the Hound Group.
6th March 2022. FOLKESTONE, HYTHE & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW. 1st Open and BOB under Judge Lisa Tyler-Jackson.
3yo blanket tri male, a lot of substance and a very strong masculine head with dark eye and soft expression, well balanced with good front and feet, strong drive from behind and covered the ground in profile.
3rd June 2022. SOUTHERN COUNTIES BEAGLE CLUB OPEN SHOW. 1st Limit Dog under judge Matt Wenman. Whitton, Jalhar The Wonder Of You At Haggatty. A Tri-Colour, masculine hound of the larger mould. A pleasing head with good eye shape and pigment. Good length of neck and strong forechest. Good spring of rib and turn of stifle. Moved well coming and going with good reach and drive. Nicely muscled, handled very well.
9th July 2022. EAST OF ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW. 2nd Limit Dog under judge Tim Jones. Jalhar The Wonder of You at Haggatty (Whitton & Edge) Blanket Tri. Heavier mold than 1 Masculine head, well pigmented with pleasing proportions. Would like more depth of chest. Level topline. Well let down hocks. Moving well.
7th August 2022.PAIGNTON CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW. 2nd Limit Dog under judge Diane Stewart-Ritchie. Whitton & Edge. Jalhar The Wonder Of You At Haggatty. This tri is another efficient mover of good shape. Strong well developed hindquarters which he used to power around the ring. Nice front assembly, straight and true when viewed from front. Good bone. A shade long from hock to heel. Would prefer a shade less in flew. Good ear placement. Overall nice shape.
6th November 2022. EAST KENT CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW. 1st Open, BOB and HG4 under Judge Jane Maxwell. Whitton and Edge’s Jalhar The Wonder Of You At Haggatty, handsome tricolour stallion hound with head of good length and width with defined stop and slightly less than round eye. Neck flows into laid back shoulder and level back with short loin. High set, well held stern and nice shelving at rear. Round bone, though front pasterns a little loose. Moved true and actively. BOB and Group 4.
19th February 2023. KENT COUNTY CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW. 1st Open, BOB & Group 2 under Judge Gillian Mitchelson. Whitton & Edge’s Jalhar The Wonder Of You At Haggatty. This four year old dog caught my eye as soon as he came into the ring. He exudes quality. Moved freely in all directions. Excellent bone and head with correct eyes, ears, tail carriage and arch to neck. Well ribbed back. He certainly has ring presence. Best of Breed & Reserve Best Hound, Group 2.
5th March 2023. FOLKESTONE, HYTHE & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW. 1st Open & RBOB under Judge Rebecca Johnson. Whitton & Edge’s Jalhar The Wonder Of You at Haggatty. Real stallion hound. Very well balanced all through presenting a compact outline. Masculine head with well defined stop. Strong neck leading to well laid shoulder. Level topline. Short loin. Strong hindquarters. Good, sound driving movement. RBOB.
18th March 2023. GUILDFORD & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW. 1st Open & BOB under Judge David Knights. Whitton and Edge’s Jalhar the Wonder of You at Haggatty. Quality male with a masculine head, lovely eye shape and expression, super front and bone, lovely feet and balanced rib to loin proportions. Nice strong rear with well set tail and an excellent mover in all directions. Best of breed in this quality entry
26th March 2023. CHICHESTER & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW. 2nd Open under Judge Sue Finnett. Whitton and Edge’s Jalhar The Wonder Of You At Haggatty, nice 4 yr old boy with a masculine head, good bone and strong neck. He has a nice outline, good depth of chest and carry back with a strong topline running back to firm well angulated hind quarters. He moved well with a proud tail carriage.
8th April 2023. CRYSTAL PALACE CANINE ASSOCIATION OPEN SHOW. 1st Open & BOB under Judge Matt Wenman. Whitton and Edge’s Jalhar The Wonder Of You At Haggatty. Tri-colour dog of the larger mould whom I have judged before. A pleasing head, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, level top line. Good angulation and turn of stifle. Moved well and shown in excellent condition. BOB and he later went onto the HG2, congratulations.
8th April 2023. CRYSTAL PALACE CANINE ASSOCIATION OPEN SHOW. Hound Group 2 under Judge Monica Fairburn. Lovely beagle who pushed one very hard, firm body giving a good shape typical of his breed. Loved his head and moved well. Reserve BH.
